Alexis is an Atlanta native, born and raised. Her love for service, beauty, and finance came early on with a Registered Psych Nurse and Beauty Ambassador as a mother and a Financial Loan Officer and Repo man for a father. They both have very humble beginnings in Birmingham's West End Bessemer area, while raising Alexis in the fast city of Atlanta in the early 90's. In high school, she would take in her mothers makeup palettes and bring it to school; not to charge her peers but to teach them. She would do their makeup for pictures or touch them up when they had an interview after their classes. She was torn between her parents dream of her being a lawyer, doctor, or finance professional and her love for people and beauty. At 14, against her wants and wishes, she became an intern at the first African American owned bank in Atlanta's West End area. There is where she fell in love with community service. She met natives of the area who were struggling financially as well as famous activist and celebrities like Hosea Williams daughter (of Hosea Feed the Hungry). She also brushed shoulders with your favorite cast members from Atlanta Housewives and Love and Hip Hop. After graduating high school, she continued her studies with Biology but ultimately knew finance would allow her to service her community. She switched her major and made a big leap from the first HBCU to a community college and lived back at home. It humbled her but also allowed her, once again, to connect with her community. She became familiar with her area and her people. As a young adult, she was a role model. Working at the bank down the street from her church, she would service her church members, her teachers and classmates, as well as some very lucrative business owners in the area. Something was missing, and she knew it. After her big move, Alexis began to fulfill her passion for beauty while working at the bank. She started the first hair company in Atlanta while also working at a makeup booth in South Dekalb mall. Whew! Three job shawty at 21! It was a very busy life but it ultimately helped her open her first physical location in 2017. The location was a salon suite in the Upper Westside of Atlanta. Back on the West Side which is arguably the BEST SIDE. She finally made it!- or so she thought. She had a makeup artist and hair stylist who helped her build a brand with her new found skill of lashing. While this was short lived, she valued the experience and community. She learned from some of the best salon owners, being in the Salon Ramsey Building that was attached to Synergy Suites. It was also right across the street from Street Execs Music Studio. Here she found her stride and soaked up the game. She held that experience dear to her heart and knew she would be back. Alexis continued to take lash and brow clients through Groupon for years, whether it was at her home in Riverdale, in her parents basement in Atlanta, or traveling to clients. From there, she continued her professional journey by working at the busiest Bank of America in Atlanta before getting her licenses and starting her own agency at a near by brokerage firm. There is where she learned the importance of true community and fellowship. She got to do it her way as well as learn how to truly free people through business and finance. She continued her love for beauty by strutted her fashion and beauty skills through the office. This kept her beauty business consistent enough to be a reliable side hustle. In 2019, she expanded her brand to begin bartending; feeling the struggles of the fast city and high expecting parents, she needed some fun in her life while still utilizing her skills. Bartending allowed her to serve people, in a new and exciting way. That new opportunity opened numerous doors and business ventures. She was able to educate as well as build her network with like minded individuals. She blossomed! She finally found her stride!... Or so she thought. COVID struck in 2020. Her finance career soared but she began working countless hours on ZOOM, social distancing, in the house. The kid in her as well as her social bug was DYING. Her true love fell to the wayside. She made over 100k in a year and helped numerous individuals of color obtain their licenses by the age of 25. She had accomplished so much but still missed the spark of the beauty world. Everything was telling her to keep going but her heart was not fulfilled. There was no lane for her. There weren't any licensed financial experts who were in the beauty world and bartended. It was definitely an unusual combo! Through throwing numerous events and hosting for countless meetings at her brokerage firm, she knew this was something she could cultivate for herself. No one had done what she was doing. No one had done it before but God gave her a vision. Thats when her perspective shifted. She decided to start paving her own lane, rebrand her company, and fulfil her dreams of incorporating all her gifts and talents. Since 2020 she has trained many finance professionals, empowered women in business through mentorship, as well as cultivate multiple events for colleagues and business women looking to step out on their own. This year she decided to get back to her number one passion of ALL THINGS BEAUTY. ATLuxe was created. Who knew what real Atlanta Luxury was like? With all the gentrification of COVID and the out-of-towners causing traffic, she knew this was what she was made for. From business branding to event curation, back to bartending and beauty service, Alexis has been in every area of Atlanta as a service provider and a business professional. Who knew the streets better than her? NOBODDDDYYYYYY! This brand is dedicated to all the Atlanta natives still standing out amongst the crowd. Keep and eye out for all the amazing things to come from her and this brand. There is nothing like a Georgia Girl ! Watch this star bring it all together while teaching and servicing her home community.
